Grilled Beef Noodle Bowl


 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb (450g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce

  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

  • Freshly ground black pepper

    For the Noodle Bowl:

  • 8 oz (225g) rice vermicelli noodles, cooked according to package instructions

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce or mixed salad greens

  • 1 cup bean sprouts

  • 1 cucumber, julienned

  • 1 carrot, julienned

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

  • 1/4 cup chopped mint leaves

  • Lime wedges for serving

    For the Dressing:

  • 3 tablespoons fish sauce

  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 Thai bird chili, minced (adjust to taste)

 

 

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, minced garlic, brown sugar, sesame oil, and black pepper. Add sliced beef and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated beef slices for 2-3 minutes per side or until cooked to your liking. Set aside.

  3. Cook rice vermicelli noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

  4. In serving bowls, arrange a portion of cooked rice vermicelli noodles. Top with shredded lettuce, bean sprouts, julienned cucumber, julienned carrot, and grilled beef slices.

  5. In a small bowl, whisk together fish sauce, rice vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and minced Thai bird chili.

  6. Drizzle the dressing over the noodle bowl.

  7. Garnish with chopped cilantro and mint leaves. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
